Mimekoto 1

Mimekoto 1 – Portrait as Identity Work and Strengthening the Experience of Meaningfulness and Inclusion of Older People is a project implemented in Laajasalo Service Centre in Helsinki, Finland in 2022–2023.

 

The project involves testing and developing of the Portrait method with the aim of empowering older individuals and enhancing their sense of agency. It also explores innovative approaches to strengthen outreach efforts targeted towards older people and focuses on impact communication to improve the accessibility of art and culture for older individuals. As a result, the project produces 50 portraits, 100 self-portraits, and hosts a visual arts exhibition at the Myllypuro Senior Centre.
